Chapter 5: Evidence and the Promise
Of course, I wasn’t going to file a regular complaint, because my cousin already tried that. Normal channels won’t work on them. I had something better in mind. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.
But when my cousin heard I’d also paid four grand, he freaked out. He paced my living room, wringing his hands. I put a hand on his shoulder, told him to trust me.
I told him, “I can’t hit them head-on—I need proof.” I showed him the photos, the receipts, the video of the price list. He started to relax, just a little.
“Don’t worry. Give it some time—I promise we’ll get our money back.” I meant every word. I wasn’t about to let these scammers win. Not this time.
