Chapter 1: Framed, Fallen, and Reborn
My roommate has a bizarre obsession: she loves being watched. Yeah, you heard me. It sounds unreal, right?
You’d think I was kidding, but I’m not. Seriously. The first time it really hit me was during ROTC training at the start of the semester. There we were, sweating through our t-shirts out on the field, and she just pulled up her skirt enough to show off her thong. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The way the guys around us ogled her made her light up like it was Christmas morning—like she’d just unwrapped the biggest present under the tree. I’d never seen anyone so thrilled to be the center of attention.
I tried to tell her this was a problem, that she needed to chill out, but she just laughed and said I was jealous of her looks. She rolled her eyes at me, like I was the one who was nuts. Not only did she blow off my warnings, she doubled down—showing off every chance she got, as if she was starring in her own reality show and couldn’t get enough camera time. Honestly, what was I supposed to do with that?
Later, someone secretly filmed her and posted the video on the anonymous campus confessions Instagram page. Suddenly, everyone was calling her shameless and demanding she get expelled. She flipped the script and blamed it all on me:
"The person who made that post about that 'tramp' is actually my friend."
"I tried to talk her out of it, but she wouldn't listen..."
In the end, I was the one forced to leave school. I was even harassed by a group of creeps. I couldn’t take it anymore. I ended up jumping off a building.
Meanwhile, my roommate was praised for being such a good person, adored by everyone. Unbelievable.
It was like the universe had played a sick joke on me—she walked away with a halo, and I was the villain in everyone’s story. Talk about unfair.
