I sat at my desk, ready to bolt.

But Ethan seemed to see right through me and called my extension.

“Come in, I want to discuss the project plan.”

I grabbed my folder and knocked on his office door.

The door swung open from the inside, and I was yanked in by a strong arm.

Ethan pinned me against the door and kissed me hard.

At first, I dodged and pushed him away.

But when that familiar feeling hit, I gave in, letting the folder drop from my hands.

Ethan picked me up and kicked open the break room door.

White shirt and suit pants hit the floor.

His voice was low and teasing behind me: “Didn’t expect to unlock the office play, did you?”

……

I’ll never be able to look at his floor-to-ceiling windows or desk the same way again.

Outside, neon lights flickered.

At some point, night had fallen.

Damn you, Ethan, I came to work overtime!

Ethan walked out of the shower, water still dripping from his chest.

The marks I left on him were still visible.

“The steakhouse downstairs is good. Let me treat you to dinner.”

I picked up my mangled folder from the floor.

“I’m not hungry.”

Right then, my stomach betrayed me with a loud growl.

Ethan chuckled.

“Come on, we both worked hard today.”

“Yeah, but only one of us is getting paid overtime.”

“…….”

Redefining ‘working overtime.’

My hair was a mess, and my shirt was missing a button—thank God for blazers. As we walked to the elevator, the city’s neon glow painted shifting colors across the marble floor, making me feel like I was starring in some after-hours HBO special. My stomach’s rumble echoed embarrassingly loud; Ethan just grinned wider.
