Chapter 1: Viral Lies and Hidden Truths

A single photo sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry: the young heir of the Silver Hollow social scene showing off a massive begonia tattoo on his waist, with a hand—flaunting a pink diamond ring worth more than my apartment—pressed right against his chiseled abs. Those fingers, painted fire-engine red, pointed right at the center of the begonia. It was the kind of shot that could melt a preacher’s resolve.

It stopped everyone dead in their tracks. The lighting, the ink, the diamond, that bold hand—it looked straight out of a Rolling Stone cover story, all scandal and attitude. You could almost hear the collective gasp as it hit every phone from New York to LA. My own phone buzzed so hard it nearly jumped off the table. I knew before I even looked—my world was about to change.

That same night, a rising starlet posted a photo of a ring—identical to the pink diamond in the viral shot.

She even picked the same background filter, like she wanted to make sure no one missed the connection. It was bait, and the public swallowed it whole.

The trending topic exploded. Suddenly, everyone was congratulating the starlet and the young heir, wishing them all the best in their shiny, fake fairytale.

Twitter, Instagram, even the morning talk shows couldn’t stop gushing. People started splicing together fancams, making edits, the whole nine yards. Hashtags like #HappilyEverSinclair trended for hours.

But only I knew the truth: she was just chasing clout. I watched the likes pile up and wanted to scream. She was playing a part, but I was the one living it.

Because I was the one she was chasing it from, whether anyone else realized it or not.
